Heaps of people want to lose weight, but almost as many don’t create consistent behavior patterns that enable them to do so. There are actually five main reasons that people can’t lose weight, even if they hit the gym every single day. So are you by any chance guilty of the 5 deadly sins that don’t let you lose weight? Let’s find out.

You Dont Eat Enough

You Don’t Eat Enough

I know what you’re thinking, “How could this be my problem?!” Well when you stop feeding your body for a period of time, your body puts on its metaphorical army gear and gets ready for the battle zone. Instead of burning the fat that makes your love handles so juicy, your body actually stores more fatty cells for whatever food you do choose to put into your body. So after your stint with trying to lose weight you actually land up having more than you did beforehand.

You Overeat Healthy Food

But it’s healthy, right? Well, yes and no. Healthy food is definitely healthy, but it should be eaten proportionately, because too much of anything isn’t healthy. Too many apples will not start excusing you from doing physical check-ups at the doctor, or from visiting a dentist every six months. Everything in moderation, folks.

You’re Distracted When You Eat

We’re in the age of technology, and in this age we hardly have time for anything other than fixating our eyes on a screen. Research has proven that mindless eating leads to weight gain, because we tend to eat more and feel less satisfied. So when you’re eating try to ensure that that’s all you’re doing. Don’t watch a movie, scroll endlessly on Facebook or Instagram, and definitely avoid talking on the phone – that’s just not fair for anyone (munch munch, crunch crunch, yeah).

You Overcompensate For Workouts

When you’ve finished that run, don’t you feel like a million bucks? I know that I certainly do. In fact I feel so good and accomplished that I believe I deserve an ice-cold beer and a piping hot pizza! Surely my body has earned itself a fix of fast-food! Well, no not really. We’re all guilty of affording ourselves a little more than we burned off during a workout. We need to understand that the amount of fat we burn on the treadmill still probably doesn’t cover the damages of a junk food munch-out.

You Don’t Know Why You Want To Lose Weight

Doesn’t it always come down to those voices in our heads? Before you can achieve anything, be it the challenge to lose weight, the task of hanging up the laundry or the fight to be more patient with your kids, you need to want to. Decide that you want to be healthier, and that you want to live a more fulfilling life, and then turn that decision into action. You’ll lose weight before you know it.
